Sour Cream Coffee Cake



1/2 cupmargarine or butter, softened
1 cupsugar
1 tspbaking soda
1 cupsour cream
1 1/2 cupsflour
1 1/2 tspbaking powder
1/4 tspsalt


1/2 cuppacked brown sugar
1/2 cupchopped nuts
1 tspcinnamon


  1. Cream together, butter and sugar.
  2. Add eggs and beat well.
  3. Add baking soda and sour cream; mix well.
  4. Mix together flour, baking powder and salt. Add to batter and stir just until mixed.
  5. Pour half of the batter into a greased 8x8 pan.
  6. Mix together brown sugar, nuts and cinnamon. Sprinkle half over batter.
  7. Spoon second half of batter over top and sprinkle with remaining topping mixture.
  8. Bake for 45 minutes.
