Dragon's Breath Chili



1 tbspbutter
4 tspcanola oil
1bell pepper
2jalapeno chilis
2roasted poblano chilis
2roasted anaheim chilis
1yellow onion
1/2head of garlic
2 lbsground beef
1 tsponion powder
1 tspgarlic powder
2 tbspchili powder
1 tsphot paprika
1 tspcumin
1 tspcoriander
2 tspcayenne
1 tspkoshering salt
1 tspblack pepper
1 cuptomato sauce
1/2 cuptomato paste
1/2 cupchicken stock
2 canskidney and/or pinto beans, rinsed


  1. Cook chili peppers and onions, in butter and canola oil, over high heat until caramelizing starts
  2. Add garlic and ground beef, and continue cooking until ground beef is browned and cooked through
  3. Add in salt and spices, cook an additional minute
  4. Add tomato sauce and paste, stir for 2 minutes
  5. Stir in chicken stock and beans. (If using raw/dry beans, be sure you’ve boiled them for 10 minutes before adding to prevent poisoning)
  6. Reduce heat, simmer for about 2 hours
