Chocolate mug cake

Ingredients

1/4 cup (4tbsp)flour
1/4 cupsugar
2 tbspcocoa
pinchcinnamon
1egg
3 tbspmilk
3 tbspvegetable oil
splashvanilla extract
1large coffee mug

Variation #1 (no egg)

1/4 cupflour
1/4 cupsugar
2 tbspcocoa
pinchsalt
pinchcinnamon
1/4 cupmilk
2 tbspvegetable oil
splashvanilla extract
1large coffee mug

Directions

  1. Add dry ingredients to mug and mix.
  2. Add wet ingredients, mix.
  3. Microwave on high for up to 3 minutes (may take some experimentation)

Notes

  1. Variation #1 is less a ‘cake’ and more a ‘brownie’; while it lacks the structure from the egg, it also lacks the salmonella. It requires more careful microwave timing; 2 minutes 30 seconds seems to work for my 700 watt microwave.
