Broccoli Salad


1/2 cupsliced or slivered almonds
2 Tbspsesame seeds
1stalk broccoli, chopped
3/4 lbbean sprouts
2 cupsfresh mushrooms, sliced
2green onions, chopped
1/4 cupsunflower seeds
2 cupschow mein noodles


1/2 cupvegetable oil
3 Tbspvinegar
2 Tbspsoy sauce
1 Tbspsugar
1 tspsesame oil
1 clovegarlic, minced
1/2 tsppepper


  1. In skillet, toast almonds and sesame seeds over medium heat, stirring occasionally, for about 8 minutes or until fragrant. Set aside.
  2. In large bowl, combine broccoli, bean sprouts, mushrooms, onions and sunflower seeds. Add toasted almonds and sesame seeds.
  3. In small bowl, whisk together all dressing ingredients.
  4. Toss dressing with broccoli mixture. Sprinkle chow mein noodles over top.
