Baked Caramel Corn



1 cupmargarine
2 cupsbrown sugar
1/2 cupcorn syrup
1 tspsalt
1/2 tspbaking soda
1 tspvanilla
1 1/2 cupsunpopped popcorn


  1. Pop popcorn.
  2. Melt margarine, brown sugar, corn syrup and salt together. Be generous with sugar and syrup when measuring.
  3. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly, then boil 5 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat.
  4. Stir in baking soda and vanilla.
  5. Gradually pour over popped corn, mixing well.
  6. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
